What’s lurking in your home’s water?

In another test of the tap water of more than 28 million people from 19 U.S. water utilities, you can get a clearer view of what your bathing your body in.

The study reported that pharmaceuticals, endocrine disrupting compounds (EDCs), unregulated organic contaminants were the worst offenders.

Of the 51 compounds the study looked for, the 11 most often found compounds were:
atenolol, atrazine, carbamazepine, estrone, gemfibrozil, meprobamate, naproxen, phenytoin, sulfamethoxazole, TCEP, and trimethoprim.

Not only are you bathing in chemicals that cause cancer, you are also bathing in a cocktail of several medicine cabinets.

Poison Bottles

Chlorine is a poison!

Your body absorbs 2/3 of the water it needs from showering and bathing…and Chlorine is added to all tap water. It’s a fact: Bathing, showering and drinking chlorinated water increases risk of cancer. These chlorine byproducts trigger the production of free radicals in the body, causing cell damage, and are highly carcinogenic. Chlorine inhalation is a leading cause of asthma!

Skin

Chlorine destroys your skin!

Your skin pores open up in the shower causing your chlorine to enter…which causes irritation, acne and an imbalance of natural, healthy bacteria on the skin. This makes skin dry all year long and it becomes itchy – especially if you suffer from Eczema. Chlorine can cause wrinkles, and dry, blotchy skin that is unattractive and uncomfortable, but unhealthy, as well. Chlorine damages the oil and mineral balance of cells, destroying the fluid balance, resulting in dried out, dead cells. This leads to dry, peeling skin, which makes the surface of the skin appear shiny!

Hair

Chlorine attacks your hair!

It makes your hair tougher to manage. Hair coloring from the salon doesn’t last as long. It also makes your scalp dry and hair becomes brittle. Chlorine has the ability to burn the tips of your hair off, resulting in a strand of hair having a blunt end. Even worse, hair loss can be significant and result in an increase in split ended hair strands!
